Twitter has undergone several mutations since its release, but it was in 2009 that it gained strength as a real-time news discussion and spread tool. The creation of Trending Topics it was the definitive step to transform the microblog into an information service.
With this premise, Twitter (company) announced last Thursday(26) the Periscope, an application developed to stream videos in real time. Although it was just announced, the app is not really new. Periscope has been being developed for about a year and similar applications already exist in the market. The difference of this is the Twitter name ahead, which cost more or less US$ 100mi the company.
The use of the app is very simple, giving the option of quick settings, geolocation and a warning to your Twitter followers that you started a new stream.
At this first moment Periscope is available only for iOS, but the company has already anticipated that it is working on an Android version that will be released soon. About Windows Phone? Who knows.
