A security researcher named Ibrahim Baliç discovered a simple flaw in the security of smartphones running the Android system. Such failure can stop the app store, or even disable the victim's device.
According to Baliç, the failure is directly related to memory management made by the system which, when it accesses or installs an application with a name containing more than 367,000 characters, causes Android to complete some processes that are indispensable for the operation of the system, forcing the device to restart.
The researcher also warns that if the app is configured to start with the system, the device enters an eternal loop of resets, disusing your smartphone.
In addition to the system failure, Baliç reported that several developers encountered problems sending their apps to the Google Play Store, proving that the failure not only affected the system, but the Google store as well.
Do not think that because your Android is updated that you are free from failure, the vulnerability exists in the latest versions of the system. However, Google has already been informed about the failure, which should be corrected soon with an update.
