Microsoft announced on Friday (29) which will reduce the price of your Windows Vista operating system from March 1st –but the measure will not be valid for Brazil.

" The decision will not affect Brazil at this time, since the values of the Windows product have been reduced since 2005", said via communiqué, Ricardo Wagner, Windows manager in Brazil. The software producer said she plans to reduce the price of Windows Vista in 70 countries.

The aim of the price reduction is to encourage the purchase of the operating system. Carlos González, product manager of Windows Vista for Latin America, even told the agency I believe that the price reduction would occur "in the world". He estimated cut at about 40%.

Despite sales – in the fiscal year 2007, Microsoft sold more than 55 million Vista licenses – there was a strong unfavorable reaction to the system. The platform was pointed as one of the worst technological advances of 2007 by experts.

The price reduction should reach consumers by the end of this month or early April, according to Microsoft.
