Dating and dating applications have become quite popular in recent years and this may not be such a good thing. Tinder, the most popular application of this genre, may have the answer.
Since its launch in 2012, Tinder has allowed anyone from the age of 13 to create a profile. That, of course, attracted many smaller to the network. But that's about to change from next week. According to Rosette Pambakian, Tinder's Vice President of Communication, users under the age of 18 will be banned from the application, which changed its policies so that only minors will participate in the network.
" On a platform that facilitated about 11 billion connections, we have a responsibility to constantly evaluate the different experiences of our users. In line with this responsibility, we have decided to discontinue the service for children under 18. We believe that this is the best policy to move forward" – Rosette Pambakian, Tinder's Vice President of Communication
According to service executives, this change will affect only 3% of its users, which should already avoid a lot of headache, since, according to Brazilian legislation, any sexual activity with children under 14 is considered a rape crime, even if consented by the minor.
