OAB decides to ask for removal from the President of Anatel

That the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) needs a reform, anyone knows, just watch the news to see the absurd statements of the then president of the agency, João Rezende.
A body that should defend the interests of the consumer is oblivious to some cases and gives a favourable opinion to companies in others. The last was the decision of two companies to limit the data franchise also for fixed band consumers, novelty that caused revolt in all sectors.
Even those who do not work with the internet were amazed at the possibility of having to pay more to consume content, so far, not charged as Netflix and Youtube.
After Rezende's strong statements on the franchise situation, there was no doubt that ANATEL was acting as a type of trade union in favor of telecommunications companies, harming the agency's main purpose that is to regulate services.
But the winds are about to change because the current president of ANATEL is in the sights of the OAB. It is known that the Order will request, together with the Presidency of the Republic and the Ministry of Communications, that Rezende be removed from office. According to the President of the Federal Council of OAB, Claudio Lamachia, Rezende is unable to continue in office, because instead of monitoring services and ensuring quality to the consumer, he has used the entity as a union of telecommunications companies.
Also, according to Lamachia, "One of the biggest responsible for the lack of internet investment is ANATEL. It should regulate market and does not regulate ", said during meeting of the Social Communication Council, liaison body between Congress and civil society, on Monday (6).
It is worth noting that, among Lamachia's statements, it was also mentioned the situation of franchise limits on the internet-fixed, emphasizing that João Rezende's statement that "the age of unlimited internet has come to an end" is disastrous.

"If there's anything that ended it was Anatel, because it's not acceptable for the president of a regulatory agency to behave that way. How are we gonna accept a situation like this? This will extend the social differences in Brazil, because it is not able to hire extra franchises will be relieved. This will only bring more profit to companies and will not observe what is fundamental, which is respect for the Civil Marco of the Internet, a federal law that has come to democratize access to the network." – Claudio Lamachia, President of the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association.

In addition to harming consumers, the internet-fix franchises would limit the work of Brazilian justice. Knowing that the whole process of judicial proceedings is done online, for Lamachia this is unconstitutional, given that access to justice is the right of all citizens.
And it's not just the barb that's on top. Due to João Rezende's statements, a few weeks ago senators opened a parliamentary committee of inquiry (CPI) to investigate the performance of ANATEL in relation to broadband data franchises and how the president of the agency has conducted the theme. Rezende states that the changes would be beneficial to users, but the only motivation for change would be the fact that the heavy users who, for him are responsible for network congestion, should pay more.
