WhatsApp will no longer support old devices

WhatsApp is the Brazilians' favorite messaging app, of which there is no doubt. But is not part of this success due to the wide compatibility of the app with various devices? It's been seven years since the release, and this week, a note from the developers didn't like it very much.
According to a post on the app's official website, WhatsApp will no longer have support for devices old by the end of 2016. These include BlackBerry, Nokia S40, Nokia Symbian S60, Android 2.1, Android 2.2 and Windows Phone 7.1 systems.
The justification is that these devices do not have support for future expansions and additions of functionality to the application, limiting development. The recommendation is that those who use devices with these systems, try to exchange for a new device with updated Android, Windows Phone or iOS.
