It's been a long time since we heard that YouTube was working on a new way to monetize the content on the site and yesterday, 23, YouTube Red was announced.

YouTube Red will work with monthly subscription plans, such as Netflix, for example. Users will pay a fixed amount to watch videos without advertisements and save the videos they want to watch later, even without connection
with the internet.
The service will work alongside Play Music, simply signing one of the services to have access to the other. The starting price of YouTube Red is US$ 9,99 in the United States.
According to YouTube, content creators for the site have already signed a contract to make their videos available on the new platform but some still resist the new model proposed by the site. In addition to the videos already published in your catalog, YouTube has promised to invest in original content produced by the site in collaboration with the main channels available on the site. These new videos should arrive in early 2016.
YouTube Red will be available in the United States from October 28th and will have a tasting period for 30 days before charging begins.
