It is with great regret that I come to report on the death of Steve Jobs, ex-CEO of giant Apple.

Jobs had been fighting cancer for some time and had already moved away from Apple a few times, but in August this year was the last time he left the company's management to treat himself once again. Tonight, October 5, 2011, Steve Jobs passed away.
No further information on the cause has yet been published, but Apple has already confirmed the news and stressed that "Steve's passion, energy and brilliance were sources of numerous innovations that enrich and improve our lives".
The company's website paid a deserved tribute to its founder, displaying a photo of Jobs with link that leads to a page where it says:

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being," the company said in a statement. "This of us who have been fortune enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple
