First phone with confirmed Android

The first phone based on Google Android was confirmed today by two distinct sources. A report in the American New York Times reinforces rumors that HTC Dream will be the first to run a Linux-based platform that will probably be released by T-Mobile in October by the end of the year. The launch depends on the approval of the device by the FCC, according to the disclosures.

There is also a video of TmoNews (below); they state that the device displayed in the video is identical to what HTC should release.

According to the sources, the device will have touch interface, as well as hardware controls. A QUERTY keyboard is part of the device (slipper), displayed in the video. However, the interface is not as intuitive as the iPhone interface. Does 2008 really come out?
