For the relief of some Microsoft confirmed the Office 14 also for Windows XP.

Chris Capossela, from Microsoft, told Silicon Valley Insider that Office 14 could run on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

"Our installed Office 2003 and Office 2007 base is very large even in companies that are still using Windows XP on their PCs. We are seeing XP support (for Office 14) on some service pack. We think it makes no sense to use Windows 7 as a prerequisite to install the next version of Office," He said.
