Google announces Photos with unlimited storage

google-photos-2015
At the beginning of the year there were rumors that Google would be working on a separation of Google Plus photo service in order to launch it as a separate product. Well, this happened yesterday on Google I/O, annual company conference for developers, with the announcement of the new Google Photos.
The intention is to give a home to your photos, organize your collections and remember special moments, sharing and saving what matters, said Urs Hölzle, Senior Vice President of Technical Infrastructure at Google.

If you were already using Google+ Photos, your photos will be automatically migrated to the new service that has unlimited free storage space. Yes, it is now free even for high-quality photos (up to 16 megapixels) and videos (1080p).
The service is now available and has desktop, Android and iOS applications.
