Lenovo presents laptop to compete with MacBook Air

Lenovo introduced in the United States its laptop model that will compete with Apple's McBookAir for the title of the world's finest laptop.

As well as the new feel of Steve Jobs's company, Lenovo's ThinkPad X300 has its ultraportability as a great attraction. The model is 0.73 inches (1.85 cm) thick and weighs 1.41 kg – including battery and disk drive – which makes it a little heavier than the Apple model, which weighs 1.36 kg.

Apple model presented last month, it is 0.76 inches (1.9 cm) thick in the thickest part and 0.16 inches (0.4 cm) in the thinest part.

ThinkPad X300 has 13.3 inches screen, full keyboard, and 64GB storage capacity.

Lenovo's laptop features coupled DVD drive, which represents an advantage over MacBook Air. It also has removable battery, three USB ports and wireless Ethernet inputs. The user can choose to purchase it with a modem for telephone networks or with GPS.

The cheapest ThinkPad X300 model should cost around US$ 2,500 and US$ 2,800 in the US – against US$ 1.799 of the simplest MacBook Air model.
