Google Chrome uses Microsoft code

Although Google acknowledges that its Chrome browser owes much to other open source projects, such as Firefox and WebKit, the company "forgotten" to mention that it also owes Microsoft.

Navigating the browser's source code, Scott Hanselman of Microsoft discovered that the browser uses Microsoft code, Windows Template Library. This is the software needed to create the interface and uses an abstraction layer, so the interface can be used on other operating systems.
