Publicly, Microsoft has reported that Windows 7, Windows Vista successor, will not be released before early 2010, but its internal calendar shows June 3, 2009 as the possible planned release date.
In addition, Microsoft will use its Professional Developers Conference at the end of October as the launch platform for the first Windows 7 beta. The company plans to launch the first beta on October 27, the first day of the event, where Ray Ozzie, Chief Software Architect, will talk about the system.
Microsoft has two major events for developers this year, the PDC from October 27 to 30 and the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WHEC).
A hardware supplier, who asked not to be identified, told InternetNews. with which internal builds are already available for testing and certification of hardware. However, these builds are available only for hardware and software certification and have not been released to all developers. Microsoft expects to release M3 from Windows 7 to its partners before the first beta.
