Microsoft has released a fix for Windows XP Service Pack 3 that allows solving a corruption problem in Windows Registry and is associated with security software from other companies.
This problem is identified from last June, where Symantec software users were the most penalised with this problem.
Some users who installed Service Pack 3 on Windows XP encountered a problem in Windows Registry getting "corrupted". This problem caused the loss of network or wireless Internet connections, as well as causing successive reboots.
Microsoft released an explanation for the problem last week. According to the "Knowledgebase " failure occurs when the Fixccs process. exe is called during installation of Windows XP Service Pack 3.
This process in turn creates some "subkeys" in the Registry and then erases them. In some cases Antivirus software does not let the Fixccs process. Exe delete these entries thus causing some problems in certain applications, such as "Device Manager and Network Connections".
