Microsoft Social Desktop

Have you thought about having URL’s on the web for all your files on Windows? For example, you have a cool photo in a Windows folder and want to share with your friends, just copy the url that Microsoft Social Desktop gives you.

This is the new enterprise of the Microsoft Research Group, the Social Desktop. This new feature creates URL’s (links) for all your files, and saves a preview (which cannot be modified) on the web using Windows Azure. Once created the url you can share with whoever you want. Pages can be accessed with any browser using silverlight, and people can add comments to their files, mark their photos, and search directly through the Social Desktop website.
