Everyone knows that the level of adoption of Windows Vista was not as high as Microsoft expected. There are still many, many users using Windows XP. By this and several other factors, Microsoft has decided to launch a direct upgrade to Windows XP, i.e. Windows XP users (with a valid license) will be able to purchase a version of Windows 7 at a slightly lower price. But there is a catch, that so far I have not understood why;
"As far as Windows XP is concerned, users can purchase the license and upgrade media to migrate from it to Windows 7. However, you will need to do a clean installation of Windows 7." said a Microsoft representative.
Got it? Those who acquire Windows 7 in this way will have to do a clean system installation, so all the files on the machine will be lost. So if you are intending to migrate to Windows 7 in this way, prepare many DVD’s for backup of your files. 😛
