As we all know a version of Windows 7 beta 1 leaked via torrent, due to the fact that many netizens downloaded performed tests with the system.

The ZDNet site performed 46 performance tests between 32-bit versions of Windows 7, Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista SP1. The tests were performed on two computers: AMD Phenom 9700 2.4GHz with ATI Radeon 3850 and 4GB of RAM memory, and an Intel Dual Core E2200 2.2GHz with NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS and only 1GB memory RAM.

Even taking into account that Windows 7 is still in tests and has not been optimized to get the best performance possible, it has won 42 of the 46 performance tests.

Below are some results, where 1, 2 and 3 respectively indicate the fastest operating system, the second placed and the slowest in the test.
