According to the site Winhelp, the owners of the Zune 30GB (1st Generation) saw their devices die yesterday from 12:01.

A specific component of the 30 GB version of Zune was not able to handle the extra day the leap year brings. 2008, obviously, it's leap year, and that made Zune prick. But temporarily, according to Microsoft's official announcement published by Zune Insider.
